How’s your summer going? Ours is in full-swing, and the chart above shows a little of why I’m so darn tired lately. There are three swim meets this week, four next week, and the other days it’s all about practice, carpooling, pep rallies, volunteering. I’m hanging in there, and the kids are having a blast.
I know some parts of the country are just weeks away from school starting, but I’m trying to focus on each day as it happens. Otherwise, I’m not smiling and having fun with my children, and I know I’ll miss it later. I’ve tried to balance all the activity with quiet time at home, less errand-running, and simple playdates with friends. I’m also making a point of taking care of myself: walking daily for exercise, getting out with friends or my husband for some fun, and trying to eat healthy (I’m struggling with that one–sometimes I’m so busy I don’t feed myself!).
