Have you tried making restaurant-style sandwiches at home? It's not difficult, and the result is delicious, not to mention much less expensive than a night out. Every once in a while, I take regular lunch sandwiches and kick them up a notch to serve as dinner:
I used leftover French bread for this to get the crispy crust and spread a little margarine on like I was making a grilled cheese sandwich. Inside, I spread a tiny bit of pesto on the bread (instead of mayo or mustard), sliced turkey, provolone cheese and roasted red peppers. Cook at medium heat (to brown the outside) until cheese is melted, flipping once. My kids declared these “fantastic!”
