I just discovered Thrifty Decor Chick, and Sarah is incredible and so inspiring. This past week, she hosted a spray paint party, and I've been all over those links, getting lots of great ideas and lamenting how I have no free time, blah blah blah. So today I just did it. I bought a can of white spray paint for .97 (ok, not technically zero budget, but give me this one since I'll use it again and again), and I went poking around in my basement…
I found this ugly orange wreath that I used to hang on the front door in the fall, but it was too worn out and sad to hang this past year. It needed a makeover.
So I took it outside and sprayed it white, and I wasn't really thorough because I liked how the little bits of yellow and orange came through to make it even more “spring-y.” And an important note, pay attention to where the wind is blowing, or you may (ahem) get some paint on your car.
Then I added some ribbon (I only had lavender, but a darker color would have been nice). But the inside was still a little bare, so I went all over the house trying to find something springy–a toy bunny, bird, anything–and I found this cute bear. And I think it looks great. My wall is actually more yellow, but the flash on the camera washed it out a bit.
Voila!

That is so cute, great work! I think you have inspired me to look around my house to see what I can ‘repurpose’!
