Last week, my Works for Me Wednesday tip was Making Money from Craigslist, where I made good money ($155!) selling items that were cluttering up the house. Of course, the opposite works as well, though it uses some of that previously-earned money. This week, I saved money by buying items used off of Craigslist:
First, we needed to get our 3-year-old-long-legged twins out of their baby highchairs. They looked ridiculous, but we liked having them down at one end of the table and not taking up two adult chairs. I found these bar chairs (don't look at the seats, they're gross and need to be recovered) for just $30 on Craigslist. I've already bought $4 worth of fabric to cover the seats. It's on my to-do list for the weekend.
Next was a toy bin storage set that was desperately needed in my girls' room. This runs $60 at Target, I've seen it for $40 on sale, but I only paid $20 for this one on Craigslist. It's in excellent condition, and you can see it was absorbed by toys within minutes of arriving in our house. This will last us a long time, and then I can re-sell it and get back some of my $20 cost.
