Keep a printed calendar on the fridge so the whole family can see what’s happening this week and next. Teach the kids to add school and other events to the calendar instead of relying on you to do it for everyone.
Most kids have a winter break from school the last two weeks of December. Plan for camps, playdates, and more and teach the kids to read the calendar so they know what’s coming up.

Start on Sunday or Monday?
For different reasons, people like to start their week on Sunday or Monday. When you have kids in school, for example, you tend to see the week in two major parts–weekdays and weekend. So it makes sense to block Saturday and Sunday together on a calendar.
Because of that, I have several monthly calendar pages that start either way. Choose whatever works best for you!
What holidays are in December 2023?
Here in the United States, there is only one major December federal holiday, where banks, post offices and schools are closed. It is Monday, December 25th, for Christmas Day.
If you’re looking for more of the unusual holidays to celebrate, like National Llama Day (December 9th), check out National Day Today.
Since our readers are from other countries besides the US, I chose not to include these holidays on these free printable December calendars. You can just add them in yourself if you observe them.
