Why should families visit theme parks?

For most people, a day at an amusement park has both physical and mental benefits. According to Pete Trabucco, author of America’s Top Roller Coasters and Amusement Parks, thrill rides “help you mental health-wise in that you can actually overcome your fear. Once you’ve overcome one fear, you’re like, ‘Let’s look for the next one.’ ”

Michael Olpin, director of Weber State University’s Stress Relief Center, agrees there are positive benefits in an amusement park visit:
