This year is Legoland California's 20th Birthday! To celebrate, they are giving kids ages 3-12 free admission on their birthday.
This offer is valid for admission through 2019 only. The park is open almost every day.
They close for a handful of Tuesdays and Wednesdays in November and December, but it is open on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Where is Legoland California located?
Legoland California is in Carlsbad, California, which is about 30 minutes north of San Diego.
If you're coming from the Los Angeles area, it's an hour south of Disneyland in Anaheim.

How do I apply for a FREE Kids Birthday ticket?
This is the best part–there's no application online or otherwise. You just go to the ticket window and show proof of your child's birthday.
Bring an original copy of your child's birth certificate, passport, or government-issued ID. No photocopies will be accepted.
Each birthday child is eligible for 1 free birthday ticket and cannot redeem the offer more than once.
What is included with the Free Kids Birthday Ticket?
The Free Birthday Ticket includes all attractions open on the given date. Check the operating calendar to see if your specific ticket will include:
- Sea Life Aquarium
- Legoland + Sea Life Aquarium
- Legoland + Sea Life Aquarium + Water Park
What if the park is closed on my child's birthday?
Again–there are very few “closed” days during 2019, but should one of those dates be your child's birthday, you have two options to redeem the ticket:
- The birthday child receives FREE admission to Sea Life Aquarium on their birthday. Sea Life is open every day in 2019.
OR - Redeem on the closest Legoland California operating day. For example, if your child's birthday is Wednesday, November 6th, the FREE admission is valid on Thursday, November 7th.
What about the rest of the family?
Children 2 and under get in FREE to Legoland and Sea Life any time.
The Free Kids Birthday Ticket offer is not applicable to child Annual Pass Members. Instead, Annual Pass Members get a Birthday Bonus perk where they can bring a friend for free.
How is Legoland California celebrating its 20th Birthday?
This fantastic theme park has added a new 4D movie, “Lego City 4D: Officer in Pursuit” in the Legoland Showplace Theater. They have moved the DUPLO Playtown to a new site within the park.
There is a new dark ride called Lego City Deep Sea Adventure submarine ride. They've also added a new hotel this year, Lego Castle Hotel.
These are in addition to the over 60 attractions!
Is this offer also happening at Legoland Florida?
