If you have kids you know it can be tough to find creative things for them to do. The Michaels Kids Club is awesome. It provides creative projects once a week for kids,
The Michaels Kids Club also hosts other projects and events throughout the week, some of them are free, others have a low cost, while still others require you to buy certain parts (like the base) of a project while they supply the embellishments.
Where can I find out about the Michaels Kids Club in my location?
You can find out about all of the events happening at your local Michaels store by visiting the Michaels Classes page! Not only will this page give you the info on the Kids Club dates and times it will also show you any classes for adults, special programs, and free sessions!
When are the Kids Club sessions held at Michaels?
The Kids Club runs every Saturday from 10 AM until 12 Noon. You should plan on spending about 30 minutes on your projects. Be sure to show up by 11:30 AM if you’d like to participate.
How do the Kids Club classes work?
Each class is open for about 2 hours on a Saturday. The project choices usually are between two options. You can choose or let your kids decide which ones are most interesting for them.
Who are the classes for?
The Michaels Kids Club is geared towards kids ages 3 and up. You can use your best judgement to make sure that your kid is going to be able to participate and enjoy the process.
If you are looking for classes for older kids or for adults, your local Michaels likely has those going on as well. They’re a great resource for learning new crafting techniques and for finding a way to get out and express your creative side without breaking the bank!
What happens at a Kids Club crafting session?
Each Michaels Kids Club session is structrued so that you can accompany your kiddos while they do one of two crafts. It’s usually a kit that has all the pieces and parts that they need to make something.
Each one is different and they’re sometimes seasonal so it will depend on the time of year and what the store has going on!
The crafts take anywhere from 15 – 30 minutes so you should make sure to give yourself plenty of time, don’t show up at 12 noon and expect to be able to participate!
Once you are done with your craft you can go! You don’t have to stay for the full 2 hour window, it’s meant to be open for that time so that people can come and go when it’s convenient.
When is the next class happening?
The classes happen every Saturday, so plan accordingly. Make sure to check with your local Michaels to see if the dates and times change for seasonal events!
What is the cost for these classes?
You can check with your local Michaels…or online at the link above…to see how much the project will be or if it will be free. They’re usually very low cost, around $3 or so per kid, or they’re free!
Are there any other places where I can take my kids for crafting and hands on activities?
If you like taking your kids to do hands on type activities you might also enjoy taking them to the Lowe’s Kids Workshops. They’re more building related and fun for kids who want a really useful final product!
Another great option is Home Depot Kids Workshops. They’re similar to the Lowe’s workshops in that you are building something. It’s a great way for kids to blow off steam, interact with other kids, and learn a skill in the process!
