Delicious Banana Walnut Muffins

Have you ever made banana walnut muffins? They’re an easy and delicious muffin recipe. This particular recipe for banana nut muffins is great for everything from breakfast to snacking after school or work.

You can use these muffins for all kinds of things. I love to make them and then freeze a batch so that the kids can pull them out and microwave them for after school snacks, lunches, and more.

Ingredients needed for banana walnut muffins:

There’s nothing fancy happening here. This banana walnut muffins recipe is simple and straightforward. All of these ingredients should be available at your regular grocery store, grab them on your next trip to try this recipe out!

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Salt
  • Baking Powder
  • Milk
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Large Egg
  • Chopped Walnuts
  • Banana

I like to use bananas that are about medium ripe or more. If they’re too green I feel like the flavor can be a bit off. You can use whatever you have on hand.

Pro Tip: If you have bananas on hand and they’re starting to get over ripe, just peel them and freeze them. Then when you need bananas for recipe you can just pull them out and use them as needed!

How to make my banana nut muffins recipe:

This banana nut muffins recipe obviously has nuts. If you have allergies or need to leave them out for other reasons you can! It won’t impact the overall recipe that much but it will change the texture and the flavor a bit. If there’s a different type of nuts you can sub in that’s okay too!

These delicious muffins are ready to be served and enjoyed.
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a muffin pan with 12 paper liners.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir well.
  4. Add banana and walnuts. Mix quickly, and push mixture to the sides of the bowl.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat egg.
  6. Stir milk and oil into egg.
  7. Pour liquid mixture into the center of the flour mixture. Mix lightly until moistened.
  8. Pour batter into muffin pan.
  9. Bake muffins for 20-25 minutes until golden in color.
