Here’s what you’ll need to make fresh mango avocado salsa:
You’ll notice that all the ingredients are diced. Try and keep the pieces similar sizes so that you get a nice uniform distribution throughout the salsa.
Feel free to let this sit in the refrigerator to come together a bit before serving or using. If you let it sit overnight, keep in mind the avocado will likely discolor a bit. Don’t worry, it’ll still taste great!
- mango
- avocado
- red onion
- jalapeño pepper
- garlic
- fresh cilantro
- fresh lime juice
You can adjust the amount of jalapeño in your recipe based on how spicy you’d like the salsa to be. If you want a little more or less heat, just adjust the jalapeno!

How to make fresh homemade salsa:
In a large bowl, combine the mango, avocado, red onion, jalapeño, garlic, and fresh cilantro.
Add fresh lime juice and season with salt and black pepper, to taste. Stir to combine and set aside.
Use this mango avocado salsa fresh, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Is there an easier way to prep all of these ingredients?
If you like your salsa a little thinner, more like a restaurant-style salsa, you can put all of the ingredients into a food processor in larger pieces.
Just give it a few blasts with the food processor and you’ll have a homemade salsa perfect for snacking, topping your favorite protein, and more!

Is mango avocado salsa healthy?
Like most things, it’s all about moderation and what you add! I would consider this a healthy salsa recipe for a couple reasons…first, the avocado is packed with healthy fats and vitamins and minerals that are great for your heart.
Second, the mango is also a very nutrient dense fruit. Mango touts some pretty great benefits that include high vitamin C, high fiber, vitamin A and antioxidants.
I also really like that this recipe is fresh made and not bottled with all kinds of preservatives. Plus it tastes amazing with fresh produce!
