Can kids make these rolo pretzel bites?

Kids can absolutely make this recipe. It is very simple and there’s not too much going on in terms of complicated ingredients. You don’t have to worry about them knocking over a bottle of spices that costs a bunch of money and the oven is running at a very low heat.

If they’re very young you can always supervise and take care of the oven work for them! As for the dipping, decorating, and finishing, that’s a job that just screams “kids in the kitchen”!

How can I give these pretzel candy bites as a gift?

These rolo pretzel bites are super easy to gift. Once they’re set and cooled they can easily be wrapped up in cellophane or placed into a small bakery box or tin.

I love to make some of these pretzel candy bites for on my holiday cookie platters as well. It helps break things up and offers a new flavor/texture combo from regular cookies. Much like these hot chocolate truffles, it’s a holiday treat that everyone devours!

Another fun to make (and delicious to eat) treat is these Christmas oreo ornaments. One of my personal favorites is Christmas puppy chow, since I’m such a huge fan of chocolate & peanut butter!

Here’s what you’ll need to make rolo pretzel bites:

This recipe uses only four ingredients, they can be picked up at your local grocery store or you can order the ingredients online and have them shipped to your home! You can’t be the convenience of that!

You will need snaps pretzels. This is important because we’re making little sandwiches and it doesn’t work so well with the bigger holes on regular mini pretzels. You will also need some Rolo candies, white baking chips to melt, and holiday sprinkles!

I used a fancy Christmas tree sprinkle mix, but you can use whatever holiday themed sprinkles you have access to or have on hand.

Once chocolate is firm, fill a pot with 1 inch of water.

Place white chocolate in a heat safe glass bowl, and place on top of the pot, making sure that the bowl doesn’t touch the water.

Heat on medium/low heat, stirring often, until chocolate is melted.

Remove the pretzels from the refrigerator and start dipping them into the melted white chocolate, covereding about half the pretzel.

Place on a parchment sheet, and top the visible white chocolate with sprinkles.

Allow white chocolate to set before eating.

Note: if you have kids making this recipe you can always have them melt the chocolate in the microwave. They can put the chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 10-15 seconds at a time, stirring in between until all are melted!
