How to get the perfect criss cross marks on your cookies:

This is a really simple trick! You'll find that it's much easier to make these little criss cross marks with your fork if it's not sticky!

After each cookie, dip your fork into some sugar so that the dough doesn't stick to the prongs of your fork and your cookie will get a little extra sprinkling of sugar on the top!

  3. Sprinkle the baking soda and vanilla in, and mix well again. If using chocolate chips, fold them in.

Notes

Typically, peanut butter cookies are made by rolling each dough ball in white sugar before pressing with fork tines. This gives a nice sparkle and texture to the cookies. I opted not to add more sugar to this recipe.
