How to make this gorgeous Valentine’s Day wreath:
Paint letters X and O and set aside to dry. *Tip: use two wood skewers for support while drying.
Cut both rolls of red deco mesh ribbon to 8” lengths. Cut white, light pink and dredge sparkle mesh ribbon to 8” lengths. Allow these cut lengths to curl up naturally.
With wire cutters, cut pipe cleaners in half.
Pinch the center of the white, light pink, and red sparkle mesh ribbon together and tie a pipe cleaner piece around the center, twisting to secure. Repeat this process, adding a 6” cut piece of red gingham ribbon to the center of half of the bundles. *Tip: you can use a clothespin to hold the ribbon together as you prepare your pipe cleaner.
The red deco mesh ribbon will naturally curl and roll up. Attach two of these together in an X shape along with a 6” piece of cut red gingham ribbon, with the pipe cleaners, twisting two or three times. Repeat this process until all the ribbons are gathered in bundles, but just use the gingham ribbon on half of them.
With all your ribbons cut, and tied together with pipe cleaners, you can now attach them to the wire heart wreath. There are three rings on the wreath, as you feel the pipe cleaners through, flip over the wreath and twist the pipe cleaners to the rings. Alternate between the bottom two rings, and the top two rings to completely cover the wreath. Also, alternate between the colors of the ribbon.
Hot glue the painted wooden hearts and the letters “X” and “O”to the wreath.
Display or give as a gift. *Tip: to hang, loop another pipe cleaner piece or wire through the center of the back top of the wreath.
