It was a very Lego holiday for us last year, and this year is not looking much different. Last year, the girls got their very first “little” Lego sets (the 405 piece Ultimate Building Set). They're really into Lego this year so I've been keeping an eye out for good gift ideas. Here are some neat things I've found:
Last year, I gave my son and his best friend the Cool Cars and Trucks and Cool Robots book from Lego designer Sean Kenney. I'm excited to see his latest book, Cool City, out this year. All three of my kids used that robot book for months, and they learned a lot about how to use Lego pieces in different ways. $10.39 at Amazon.
I love the Lego Creator series. You use the same set of bricks and can build three different projects. They've put out a few this year that are smaller sets, so they're less expensive. They're great for kids new to Lego who like to follow the instruction booklets. This Lego Log Cabin set is only $24.29 at Amazon.
Over at Etsy, get a I Heart Lego Necklace from the MermaidSays shop. It comes in blue or red and is only $5.89. She also has Mini Figure Head stud earrings and other Lego jewelry.
I love this Keep Calm print from the Deeply Dapper Etsy shop. It's a play on the trendy “Keep Calm” prints that have been going around, and it's perfect to hang in the playroom when you're a Lego House. Too funny! It's $14.99 and comes in either red or yellow.
