What will I need to make creamy chicken in the slow cooker?
You can find the full amounts in the recipe card at the bottom of the post but here’s the ingredients you will be using for this Crockpot creamy chicken recipe:
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Creamy Italian salad dressing
- Salt & pepper
- Garlic powder
- Parmesan cheese, shredded
- Cream cheese
- Chicken broth
Can I use other kinds of chicken?
You could probably use boneless skinless thighs for this recipe if you wanted. I haven’t tried it but I think it would come out fine!
If you wanted to use another cut of chicken that’s what I would go for. The dark meat will be a little more fatty and flavorful and should go well with the rest of the flavors in this dish.
How to make this easy slow cooker creamy chicken:
Place ¼ cup of the creamy Italian salad dressing in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Layer chicken on top of dressing.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder on chicken.
Pour remaining dressing over the seasoned chicken.
Add Parmesan cheese.
Cut the cream cheese into blocks and distribute evenly on top of Parmesan cheese.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours.
Cook the noodles per package instructions and set aside.
At the last 30 minutes of cooking time, remove the chicken from the cooker.
Whisk in the chicken broth.
Add the cooked noodles and stir until well coated.
Return the chicken and cook for the last 30 minutes.
What to serve with Crockpot creamy chicken:
You’ll see that I make this Italian chicken in the Crockpot with noodles. You could definitely use any kind of pasta, just be aware that the cooking times and moisture requirement will be different. If you wanted to serve this over rice that would work too!
If you like you can also shred the cooked chicken up in the juice and make it into a filling for wraps, sandwiches, and to top salads. The noodles help soak up some of the extra moisture so you may need to remove some of the liquid before shredding the chicken with a hand mixer or forks.
You can serve this recipe as prepared with a side salad, some steamed or fresh veggies, or some crusty bread. It’s an Italian recipe after all, you can never have too much bread!

- 1 bottle creamy italian salad dressing
- salt & pepper - to taste

- 8 oz cream cheese
- 12 oz pasta - I used egg noodles, cooked
- 1 cup chicken broth
