Are Michaels kids classes different from the Michaels Kids Club?

Yes! The Michaels Kids Club classes are always on the same day each week at the same time and they don’t usually require a specific purchase, planning, etc. You can just show up and enjoy. To learn more about the Michaels Kids Club you can check out my post on the topic for all the details.

What type of crafts classes do they offer at Michaels?

I’m focusing on the kids aspect of the Michaels crafting classes and workshops because that’s what we primarily are interested in, that being said, there are crafts for the whole family.

The Michaels kids classes have specified age ranges. Some are geared towards smaller kids, others are for teens, and still others are for young adults. Each class is labeled really well.

If you think your kiddo can handle the older classes I would think it will be fine. I haven’t seen anyone checking ages, it’s mostly about skill level and time/patience. The younger kids have more speedy crafts that won’t bore them quickly, the older kids can enjoy more detailed crafts that take a little bit longer!

You can see all of the available classes at your local Michaels. Most classes are focused on seasonal crafts. They change each week / month and are usually focused on popular holidays, seasons, and more!

Michaels Kids Workshops and Maker Camp:

During Spring Break each year Michaels runs their Maker Camp. It’s got kids crafting opportunities every day for the week. They’re open to kids 3 and up and they’re usually free! That means that you have a guaranteed activity for the day that is age appropriate, fun, and doesn’t cost a thing!

Spending spring break doing something hands on each day is a great way to keep kids stimulated and learning while also letting them decompress a bit. School can be stressful for kids and doing a craft is learning without thinking about it, a win win!

You can bring your own food items so you don’t have to pay them for that, the party does include the following:

  • Invitations, thank-you notes & craft supplies for each guest!
  • Drawstring bag for the guest of honor!
  • Use of a classroom plus a Michales Team Member to help kids with their crafts.

The parties are designed to last about an hour and a half. You can add on things like face painting and more! You can really design a party to suit your needs as well if one of the pre-designed themes doesn’t suit your birthday boy or girl!

Overall, Michaels is a great resource for kids classes and events. You can plan something like a party for your kids or you can go to their free sessions or take them to the Michaels Kids Club sessions for a low cost. Each time they’ll get
