The wonderful thing about this cucumber tuna avocado salad recipe is that it’s loaded with healthy fats. We have tuna and avocado going into the mix and there’s no need for mayo or whipped dressing.
This is a light lunch recipe that I also serve up on hot days when we just need a quick dinner that’s not too fussy. If you need a protein packed snack in the middle of the day this tuna avocado salad is a great choice for that as well.

How do I serve this tuna avocado salad?
I usually serve it up as is and eat it with a fork. You could really easily throw this onto bread for a sandwich or onto wraps. You could also serve it up with crackers for a little extra crunch.
It’s really nice to make a batch of this tuna avocado salad recipe and let everyone grab some when they’re hungry for lunch or a snack. I like that I can eat it at my desk on those extra busy days and not have to worry about having messy hands from a sandwich or wrap.

Can I add more veggies to this tuna avocado salad recipe?
You can absolutely add more vegetables to the mix if you want. I like it with the cucumbers because they’re pretty mild. You could add in some tomatoes, bell peppers, or even some jalapenos if you like a little extra spice in your recipes!
Cucumber tuna avocado salad is pretty versatile and forgiving. You could add more cucumbers to the mix or even chop them up smaller if you wanted to serve this as a wrap or pita filling.
What do I need to make this tasty mayo free tuna salad?
You will need just a few simple fresh ingredients to make this delicious salad recipe. I’ll share a list below in the printable recipe card but if you want to check your fridge or pantry we will be using cucumbers, avocado, red onion, lemon juice, olive oil, canned tuna, and lemon pepper seasoning!
If you have lemon pepper tuna pouches on hand you could use those and skip the seasoning which is nice when you are in a hurry or if you just don’t want to buy lemon pepper seasoning (or don’t have any on hand).
How to make cucumber tuna avocado salad:
This is a really quick recipe to throw together. Once you make it a time or two you’ll be hooked! There’s only four steps and you can have this ready in 5-10 minutes for a great lunch that is packed with fresh ingredients, heathy fats, and lean protein. If you have hard boiled eggs on hand you could definitely chop one up to add to the mix for even more protein and flavor.
In a large bowl, combine the cucumber, avocado and red onion. Stir until avocado begins to soften.
Combine the lemon juice and olive oil, then sprinkle over the veggie mixture. Stir to coat completely.
Break up the tuna and stir into the salad.
Season to taste with the lemon pepper seasoning.

- 1 cucumber, sliced and halved
- 1 avocado, peeled, pitted and chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, sliced
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 5oz canned tuna, drained
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cucumber, avocado and red onion. Stir until avocado begins to soften.
- Combine the lemon juice and olive oil, then sprinkle over the veggie mixture. Stir to coat completely.
- Break up the tuna and stir into the salad.
- Season to taste with the lemon pepper seasoning.
