Birthday Balloon Wreath

Birthday Balloon Wreath--easy enough for a noncrafter to make, and it can be used for years of celebrations!

This Birthday Balloon Wreath costs a little more than my usual crafts, but it is displayed many times each year, always garnering lots of compliments from neighbors and friends.

It’s easy enough for a non-crafter to make, so don’t be afraid to give it a try! It also makes a lovely gift for a family who celebrates lots of birthdays.

It only takes three things to make this easy wreath:

  1. Wreath Form–use a styrofoam or straw wreath form (if using straw, keep the plastic on so you don’t end up with a mess).
  2. Floral Pins–find these in the floral section of any craft store (also available on Amazon).
  3. Balloons–how many? It depends on how “full” you want your wreath to look. I used about 200, but you could use less and it would still look great.

Just layer the balloons two-at-a-time in different directions and use the pin to secure them. Easy to do while watching TV, or do as I did and host a Moms’ Night In.

We had snacks, talked a bit, then started working on our wreaths so we could catch up with each other while crafting. Occasionally, hold your wreath upright so you can see how the balloons “lay,” and fill in any empty spots.

I was inspired to make my wreath by the original one posted a few years ago at How Does She? Since then, I’ve seen a variation in this Curling Ribbon Wreath at Embellished Bayou–so cute and just as fun as the balloons!
