Italian Beef in the Crock pot
I think that to own a crock pot is to love a crock pot. The slow cooker is the perfect kitchen appliance to make back to school season a breeze. The kids are busy with activities, and it seems like the more they do the more I do!
The last thing I want to do is hover over the stove in order to get dinner on the table. That is where the crock pot comes in to save the day!
This is a great recipe for meal prep. If you like to take sandwiches or wraps for lunches, this meat is so easy to shred and portion out for meals on the go.
What to serve with Italian Beef?
Since this is such a simple recipe, it frees up time to make a fancier side dish–if you like! Giardiniera is an authentic Italian condiment you can make from scratch that pairs perfectly with this beef. It would also taste great on top of this cheesy French Onion Rice.
You can serve these up however you like. The classic way to serve this Italian beef is on a hard roll with some melted provolone cheese.
It’s also delicious to skip the bread and serve it on top of or alongside a salad or other vegetables. If you are watching your carbs this can still be a great recipe for you to enjoy!

There’s not a lot of crazy ingredients to grab for this recipe. Pretty simple stuff that comes together to create something delicious and amazing:
- 2 pounds chuck roast
- salt and pepper
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- dried parsley
- Italian seasoning
- beef broth
- banana peppers with juice
Serve with:
- Hard rolls
- Provolone cheese
How to make Italian Beef in the Crockpot:
I wasn’t kidding when I said this recipe was easy. It’s so simple–just put everything into the slow cooker, and turn it on. Once it’s done cooking, you shred it and serve it. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
- Place the chuck roast in the bowl of the crockpot. Season with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, parsley, and Italian seasoning.
- Pour beef broth around the meat.
- Top meat with banana peppers and juice.
- Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or low for six hours.
- Shred the meat with a fork and then return the meat to the pot and stir to combine it with the juices.
- Serve on a hard roll topped with provolone cheese and additional banana peppers (optional).

Ingredients

Instructions
