Try something new with your fall baking this year–jazz up your favorite flavors with a little zip! I added tangy sour cream to the batter to make spicy Spiderweb Pumpkin Cupcakes, then topped them with a zingy cream cheese frosting. For an additional Halloween touch, pipe on melted chocolate for a fun spiderweb.
These cupcakes come together quickly with a boxed Spice cake mix, sour cream, canned pumpkin, oil and egg. Save your time “making homemade” for the frosting–it’s worth it!
The cream cheese frosting was easy to do, and if you’ve never made your own frosting, please give it a try. The flavor is so much better than what you buy at the grocery store, and you’re using your own ingredients.
