Why use a slow cooker to make chicken?
Using a slow cooker to make chicken recipes is so smart and simple. It takes away a lot of the stress of cooking in general. You don’t have to hover around in the kitchen by the stovetop or oven, you just set and and walk away, go about your day, etc.
Another reason I like to use the Crockpot to make lemon pepper chicken is to keep it super moist and flavorful. You don’t have to worry about the chicken drying out when you make it in the slow cooker.
Gone are the days of dry flavorless chicken, the slow cooker helps lock in moisture and flavor so that everything comes out tasting great and with very little effort!
If you prefer baked chicken, I also have a recipe for lemon pepper chicken that goes in the oven.

Crockpot Lemon Pepper Chicken Ingredients:
You can find the full amounts of these ingredients in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. For your shopping list, you can add the following ingredients that we will use to make this simple slow cooker lemon pepper chicken!
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast
- Cream of chicken soup
- Chicken broth
- Lemon juice
- Dry minced onion
- Salt & Pepper, to taste

You can also use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for this recipe if you prefer. The only difference is that they’re a little bit more fatty than the breasts. Dark meat versus white meat in the crockpot is kind of just up to personal preference.
I like to use the breasts because they are leaner but the thighs would be a bit more flavorful and possibly cheaper as well. Use what you have or what you prefer, this lemon pepper chicken will come out great either way!

How to make lemon pepper chicken in slow cookers:

Marinate chicken in ½ cup of lemon juice for about 30 minutes

In a bowl mix together the soup, broth, remaining ½ cup lemon juice, and seasonings until well combined

Ladle a small amount of mixture into the bottom of the slow cooker

Lay all of the chicken on top

Cover the chicken with the remaining soup mixture

Cook on low for 5-6 hours

Serve over rice or noodles and enjoy!

Do you like lemon pepper seasoning?
If so, did you know you can make your own as opposed to buying it already-made? It’s not hard, and it’s a good way to avoid preservatives and high sodium that a lot of store-bought spice mixes have.
I also have an oven-baked lemon pepper tilapia recipe for you to try! Cooking fish in the slow cooker can be tricky, so I stick to baking it or cooking it on the stovetop.
