I love to make dips when we are having people over. It’s an easy way to provide different flavors and choices without having to go overboard with preparation and shopping. Usually we go with a healthy option like this ranch dip with Greek yogurt, or splurge with some creamy olive and red pepper dip and artichoke spinach dip.

I’ve also been known to throw a sweet option in the mix too so that people can dip fresh fruit during our summer parties. My Caramel Apple Dip is a delicious sweet choice and goes great with a variety of fruits!

What do I need to make this homemade ranch dip with Greek yogurt?

I usually have most of these ingredients on hand at any given time so this truly is a great recipe to have in my box. Whenever we need a quick snack or an appetizer I can throw this together in no time!

 

How do I make this delicious healthy ranch dip?

This is a super easy recipe. Everything goes into a bowl and gets mixed up. Kids can make it, adults in a hurry can make this, and after an hour or so in the fridge everything really comes together perfectly.

I’ve found that this dip tastes best if you let it sit in the fridge for a few hours before serving. The flavors meld together, and the dried onion softens. You can serve it up without letting it sit but just know that the flavors will blend and be more appealing after a little time! 

Bonus Tip: prep a large batch of this for lunches throughout the week. During the summer this yogurt dip is amazing with some crunchy vegetables. You can put it into dishes with your favorite prepped vegetables like carrots, celery, peppers, and more. An easy lunch on the go that is packed with protein thanks to the Greek yogurt!

Can I enjoy this ranch dip with Greek yogurt on Weight Watchers Freestyle?

Yes! The whole batch is only 7 Weight Watchers Freestyle points. If you divide this recipe up into three or four servings you are only looking at between 2 and 3 points per serving. The great news is that you will have a nice little protein boost for energy and to keep you full longer because of the Greek yogurt.

Because this is a healthier recipe I usually go pretty generous with the serving amounts and split this into 4 servings of about 1/3 cup each. I count one serving at 2 Freestyle Points.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup light mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp dill
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
